Wes Martin

Chief Executive Officer

 

Wes Martin is the Chief Executive Officer of Copperbeck Energy Partners. Wes formed Copperbeck in August 2017 with an equity commitment from Tailwater Capital. 

Wes served in various capacities with Martin Midstream Partners L.P. and Martin Resource Management Corporation for over 12 years with his most recent role as Vice President of Corporate Development of both companies. From 2009 to 2017, Wes's efforts at Martin led to the successful execution of over $2 billion in corporate transactions across the midstream and downstream energy value chains. Additionally, he served as a member of the board of directors of Cardinal Gas Storage Partners from 2009 to 2014. Wes's previous roles within the Martin companies included Vice President of Business Development and Associate. From 2000 to 2003, Wes served as a financial analyst in the energy investment banking group of Raymond James Financial, Inc. He holds a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.


Joe McCreery

Chief Financial Officer

 

Joe McCreery assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer of Copperbeck Energy Partners LLC in July 2018.

Joe joined Copperbeck from Martin Midstream Partners L.P. and Martin Resource Management Corporation, where he served as Vice President, Finance and Head of Investor Relations from 2009 to 2018. At Martin, Joe led corporate finance strategy and capital markets execution for the both the public and private entities. Joe brings to Copperbeck extensive experience in energy corporate finance, specializing on master limited partnerships, project financing and oil field services. He served as Director of Corporate Energy at the investment banking firm, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Debt Capital Markets, specializing in loan structure and syndication at ABN AMRO North America. Joe holds a B.B.A. in economics from the University of Miami in the Honors Program.


John Suchand

Vice President

 

John Suchand joined Copperbeck Energy Partners LLC upon its formation in August 2017 and currently serves as Vice President.

Prior to Copperbeck, from 2010 to 2017, John served in various capacities with Martin Midstream Partners L.P. and Martin Resource Management Corporation with his most recent role as Director of Finance of both companies. John was primarily responsible for supporting corporate development and financing efforts, including acquisitions and divestitures, raising debt and equity capital for public and private entities, as well as providing capital structure and capital investment analysis and recommendations across Martin's diversified business segments. In addition to roles at Martin, John previously held positions at Texas American Resources Company, Cimarex Energy and Magnum Hunter Resources. John holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.


Matt Vermillion

Vice President

 

Matt Vermillion joined Copperbeck Energy Partners LLC as a Vice President upon its formation in August 2017.

Prior to Copperbeck, Matt served in various roles with Martin Midstream Partners L.P., Martin Resource Management Corporation and affiliates for 8 years, most recently as Director of Corporate Development. In his corporate development role, Matt was instrumental in the execution of several acquisitions across Martin's diversified business segments. From 2011-2014, Matt was Director, Business Development for The Brimrock Group, Inc., a refinery services technology company. Matt also served as Assistant Controller and led the integration efforts of several midstream acquisitions. Prior to joining the Martin Companies, Matt was a Manager in the Audit Practice of KPMG LLP. He holds a B.S. in Business from Louisiana Tech University and an M.B.A. from Mississippi State University. Matt is a Chartered Accountant (Alberta) and Certified Public Accountant licensed in Louisiana, Texas and Virginia.
